KARUNGUZHI BRINDAVAN



Ragothama Swamigal wanted to construct a holy Brindavan by converting the thatched roof into concrete building.

About the Brindavan

This work was started in the year 2004 with the estimate of Rs.1,00,00,000 (one crore) that includes construction work completion and performing Kumbabishekam. Despite Thava Yogi Ragothama Swamigal’s sincere efforts, the Brindavan construction work could not be completed due to lack of financial support and sharp price escalation on construction materials. However, Thava Yogi Ragothama Swamigal’s tireless efforts are resulting in speedy progress of Brindavan construction. Thava Yogi Ragothama Swamigal appeals the devotees to take active part in this holy task of Brindavan construction and get the blessings of Shri Raghavendra Sawamigal. Devotees contribution can be in any form that is cash or kind and liberal contribution will be appreciated by performing special prayers to Shri Ragavendra Swamigal. Many devotees visit the Brindavan frequently and the get the blessings of Shri Ragavendra Swamigal.

Pooja details

Every day two times of poojas are being performed in the Morning and Evening. As Thursday is auspicious to Shri Ragavendra Swamigal, a special pooja is performed. On Saturdays, a special pooja is performed to Aanchaneya Swamigal.

Annual Aaradhana

Sri Raghavendra Swami, in the year 1671, had attained the Jeeva Samadhi on that of a Dwitiya Day pertaining to Sravana Krishna Paksha. This particular date gets celebrated as that of Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana, each year, at all the Brindavans found across the world. Every year in the month of August, Shri Ragavendra Swamigal Aaradhana is celebrated in a grand manner in Karunguzhi Brindavan. The celebration is attended by spiritual leaders, Shri Ragavendra Swamigal devotees and other celebrities.

On the day of Aaradhana, Ganapathi Homam is performed around 3.30 Am. Following Ganapathi homam, spiritual songs are sung by Carnatic singers. Spiritual speeches are rendered by spiritual leaders. In the presence of devotees and dignitaries, a special Abishekam and Archanai is performed to Thava Yogi Ragothama Swamigal with the Abishekam materials brought by the devotees.

To highlight the special feature of this Aaradhana, Maha Mangala Aaradhana is being performed to Shri Raghavendra Swamigal in moola Brindavan. At the end of celebration, Annadhanam is provided to devotees. About 2500 devotees attend the celebration. Annual Aaradhana is one of the important events of Karunguzhi Brindavan and in this event devotees from different parts of Tamilnadu take active participation and celebrate it as their own event.
